WOF and rego are two dates, not one
They get talked about together, but they behave differently. A warrant of fitness is an inspection with an expiry date, usually annual for newer cars and more frequent for older ones. The vehicle licence — the rego — is a payment you renew for three, six or twelve months at a time.
Because the two run on separate clocks, remembering one does nothing for the other. Most people discover the gap at the worst moment: a roadside check, an insurance question after a bump, or the day the label is finally read properly.
How to remember a WOF expiry without checking the windscreen
The date is already printed on your WOF label and check sheet. The only missing piece is something that brings it back to you before it matters.

- name it “WOF renewal” and enter the expiry date
- choose the notice you want, two to four weeks is comfortable
- set it to repeat so next year is already handled
- attach a photo of the check sheet if you want the paperwork with the date
Rego renewal on your own cycle
A rego paid twelve months at a time is easy to forget precisely because it happens once. Paid three months at a time, it is easy to lose count. Either way the fix is the same: one repeating reminder set to the cycle you actually use.
If you pay quarterly, a repeating reminder every three months keeps it from lapsing between renewals. If you pay annually, a single yearly alert with a week of notice is usually enough.
The rest of the car year in the same list
Servicing, insurance renewal, tyre checks and the WOF re-check after a fail tend to arrive in the same few months. Keeping them in one list makes the year predictable instead of a series of surprises.

How do I check when my WOF expires?
The expiry is printed on the label on your windscreen and on the check sheet from the inspection. Official online lookups exist through the transport agency. Once you know the date, MiRicordi keeps it for you.
Does MiRicordi do a rego expiry check?
No. It has no access to vehicle records and cannot look anything up. It reminds you of a date you added yourself, on the schedule you chose.
Can I have separate reminders for WOF and rego?
Yes, and it is the sensible setup: two reminders on their own dates and their own repeat cycles, each with the notice period that suits it.
What if the WOF fails?
You need a re-check, which is why a reminder a few weeks ahead helps: it leaves time for repairs before the current warrant runs out.
